Buy gifts and other goods on BitcoinShirt for crypto

Want the word know you belong to the Bitcoin community? Then proudly wear a Bitcoin t-shirt. We know just the place you can buy one — BitcoinShirt.co.

BitcoinShirt is an online-store selling cypherpunk, one-of-a-kind Bitcoin merchandise. Despite the name, on offer are t-shirts, hoodies, coffee mugs, hats, posters, and more. The items can be delivered worldwide.

In addition to Bitcoin, BitcoinShirt accepts over 30 different types of cryptocurrencies. Payments go via Lightning Network directly to Bitcoin Node via BTCPay Server.

The store owner strives to promote adoption of Bitcoin by being one of those merchants that do not convert cryptocurrency into fiat right away. Instead, they try to push Bitcoins they receive from customers through the supply chain by establishing long-term relationships with them.

“Bitcoin changed me”

A family-owned business, Bitcoinshirt.co was created out of a complete lack of high quality, eccentric, and distinctive t-shirt designs in Bitcoin community. At the time, the future founder wanted to buy a t-shirt to display his love for Bitcoin proudly, but couldn’t find any good-looking ones. Being picky about clothes, he started designing a t-shirt he would want to wear. The result received much positive feedback and people started asking where they could buy one.

The idea was born. And it changed the founder’s life, according to his story on BitcoinShirt’s blog.

In December 2017, they started using an open-source Bitcoin payment processor BTCPay, which was little known at the time. This allowed them to become their own bank and improve customers’ privacy paying with Bitcoin by completely cutting out the third party in transactions.

In February 2018, the store became one of the first businesses on the internet to implement and accept payments on the Lightning Network. Later that year, they launched their OpenBaazar store. OpenBaazar is a peer-to-peer decentralized marketplace which accepts only cryptocurrency and charges no fees.

BitcoinShirt is particularly attractive because they donate a portion of monthly profits from cryptocurrency payments to BitGive foundation and their GiveTrack projects.

There are many indie online stores selling merchandise for Bitcoin. But BitcoinShirt stands out as a more innovative, daring to try disruptive or beta technologies, seller that offers unique designs.
