Swiss Furniture Company Möbler Schaller Now Accepts Bitcoin

The Möbel Schaller, a specialist retailer of branded furniture from Geuensee, Switzerland, decided to join the growing trend and started to accept bitcoin. This makes Möbel Schaller the first furniture store to offer a cryptocurrency payment option in Switzerland.

The payments are processed in partnership with Inapay app.

Möbel Schaller is a family-owned company with a 117-year history. Today Möbel Schaller is one of the leading furniture stores in Central Switzerland. Their store in Geuensee presents a large selection of the best branded and designer furniture as well as numerous ideas for individual living on five floors and 5,500 square meters of exhibition space.

The simplicity of the payment process and the absence of the usual transaction costs was what convinced Möbel Schaller, the company said in a press release.

Matthias Schaller, owner of Möbel Schaller, explains his motivation as follows: «With inapay, we are now also enabling the ever-increasing target group of Bitcoiners to buy high-quality furniture from us without having to assume the currency risk as an SME. We immediately receive Swiss francs in our bank account».

Customers can buy with cryptocurrency the entire product range at Möbel Schaller in Geuensee via the Inapay app, both directly in the shop and online. Inapay is a Swiss mobile app developed by Inacta AG from Zug. The app allows businesses to accept payments in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Once the user installs the Inapay app, they use their personal wallet to scan a QR code generated specifically for the transaction, and then transfer the corresponding amount in bitcoin. Möbel Schaller will then receive the amount in Swiss francs. Any currency fluctuations in the bitcoins do not affect the payment.
