IPVanish & SugarSync®: Encrypt everything from your internet connection to your files

A few months back, SugarSync, cloud backup provider, and IPVanish, a popular VPN provider, teamed up to give free cloud storage to customers who care about privacy.

A new plan available on IPVanish’s website offers 250 GB of SugarSync cloud storage when customers sign up for an IPVanish subscription starting at $6,50/mo. This means that IPVanish customers get SugarSync at no extra cost.

IPVanish, a US-based VPN service by Mudhook Media, Inc. and owned by J2 Global, provides access to 1,400+ anonymous servers, delivering fast, unrestricted internet access. Their app uses 256-bit AES encryption and IKEv2, OpenVPN, and L2TP/IPsec VPN protocols and is one of the most secure on the market.

“Today’s digital landscape is littered with exploits and vulnerabilities, so a rigorous data defense is crucial. Both a VPN and a secure cloud service are essentials,” explains the company on their website.

IPVanish’s users get access to torrenting and unlimited P2P sharing. Coupled with SugarSync, users can encrypt everything from internet connection to files.

This makes the IPVanish+ SugarSync pair a perfect pick for those who use BitTorrent or other torrent downloaders and deal with large files. With the SugarSync add-on for IPVanish, customers get such features as file syncing across an unlimited number of devices and platforms, including network-attached storage devices, syncing support for most photo, video, music, and document file types, and remote data-wipe feature in the case of theft or loss.

SugarSync, founded in the USA in 2008, has been providing secure cloud storage and file-sharing services to customers in over 120 countries for over a decade.

“Today’s digital world is riddled with cybercrime and vulnerabilities, making full data protection a necessity,” said Nick Nelson, General Manager of NetProtect, SugarSync’s parent company. “This SugarSync + IPVanish package gives customers a two-fold security suite that not only keeps their online activity secure, but makes it easy to keep their digital life seamlessly organized.”

Like IPVanish, SugarSync secures file storage with AES 256 encryption and uses TLS to protect user file transfers.
