Esports is a multi-billion dollar economy with over 2,3 billion players worldwide. But most of the action is concentrated in a handful of teams like LoL, CS:GO, Dota2, and Overwatch, and there are much fewer clubs than, for example, in football, a traditional sport, where there are 300 million players globally in 300,000 clubs.
One team saw an opportunity in this low number of clubs in the esports market. This team realized that one of the reasons for the disparity in the ratio of players to clubs in esports is the barrier to entry. When it comes to building and managing a team, there is no good solution for that.
DreamTeam is the world’s first esports and gaming recruitment and management network for teams, built on top of the blockchain technology and smart contracts. DreamTeam provides an all-in-one solution for gamers who want to build, grow, manage, and monetize their team. With the unlocking of blockchain and smart contracts, teams, gamers, and coaches can get paid salaries and bonuses of all types using the platform in a fast and secure way. It uses the DreamTeam Token for making all purchases and payments on the platform.
“By providing security and transparency via a smart contracts based system, we will aid in the further development of the esports ecosystem,” says the founder Alexander “ZeroGravity” Kokhanovskyy, also the founder of one of the world’s biggest esports organization Na’Vi and co-owner of ESForce.
Blockchain technology and smart contracts will ensure the highest security, on-time payments, automated obligations control, and anti-fraud system enforcement. Earning is secure on the platform, “if a team participates in a tournament and wins, the prize money is automatically transferred to their account, according to the smart contracts pre-set rules,” explained Mr. Kokhanovskyy.
Progress and token sale
The platform was launched on October 24, 2017. Since then, the project got active support from the esports community and has successfully completed the Token Sale Phase #1 of its ICO and reached the Hard Cap of $6M.
In March 2018, DreamTeam launched Blockchain user wallets and smart contracts testnet on the Ethereum network to allow esports teams to pay their players’ compensation in tokens. Now by using the Blockchain technology, every transaction can be viewed and verified on the Ethereum test network; eliminating the risk of fraud and non-payment.
Currently, the team is preparing for the Token Sale Phase #2. It starts in 2 days and will run from April 19 through May 19, 2018.
